Our Quality and Environmental Management System or (QEMS) here at Spiral Industries is a process based approach to managing our business that incorporates the elements of the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and ISO/TS 16949:2009 standards.
ISO 9001: 2008 is an ‘International Quality’ standard that focuses on meeting the needs of the customer using a process based approach for managing a business. ISO 14001:2004 is an ‘Environment Management System’ standard that manages the immediate and long term environmental impacts of our products, services and processes. IATF 16949:2016 is a ‘Technical Specification’ that has been incorporated along with ISO 9001:2008 to include various customer specific quality requirements for the automotive/heavy truck industries.
Our (QEMS) covers a step by step series of processes and procedures for everything from how we quote a part, to the review of (contract) purchase orders. It also details how we design our manufacturing processes around meeting all of the customers’ requirements on their contracts, blueprints, standards, specifications, as well as those things that we do here at Spiral, when designing processes to make sure we build the parts the way the customer wants them.
Many types of records and documents have to be maintained and kept up to date in order for us to accomplish compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard and for us to consistently build Quality Parts that Meet Customers’ Requirements at Competitive Prices and Deliver them On Time.
